Make Something This Summer!

Seidenberg is the Computer Science and Information Systems part of Pace University. The Seidenberg Summer Scholars high school camp is back for the Summer of 2021! This year’s camp has been optimized for online delivery, so you’ll be able to participate – and earn college credit – from the comfort of your own home.

Dates: Monday, July 12-Monday, July 26, 2021.
Location: Online.
Cost: Free, with additional fee to earn credits.

This is an entirely online course. There will be live seminars as well as weekly videos. Students will meet with their teammates as well as their mentors, who will assist on their projects. Students will also use the discussion board to engage with other students as well as reflect on their projects for this course.

Game Development for Everyone

Learn programming and interactivity through the lens of Game Development. No prior experience is needed.

Students will gain familiarity with the Unity game engine and learn about topics such as sprites, models, collisions, physics, lighting, and audio. Additionally, students will create their own behaviors by programming in C#.

This is a project based course with students building playable games throughout the semester. By the end of the course, you will have created two new games to add to your portfolio!

How it Works

Seidenberg Summer Scholars will take place for two weeks from July 12-July 26, 2021.

Students are expected to commit around 15 hours per week to completing the course, including 2 hours of live class time on weekdays. Classes will take place on Monday through Thursdays from 2-4pm EST.

Students will then have the weekends to work on their projects and ensure understanding of the course material.

On Monday, July 26, students will showcase their completed games for a two-hour Game-a-Thon, which will be attended by family and friends, as well as members of the entire Pace University community!
